Overloaded and overtired? These words are sure to re-enter your vocabulary now that summer is almost over (if they haven’t already). The demands of school, work, holidays, housework, social commitments, and so on can really take a toll on both your mind and body. Without a doubt, there will be days when you wake up utterly exhausted and downright unmotivated, and you don’t know how you will make it through your eons-long to-do list for the day. Here are 4 girly hacks to get you going and make it more likely that you will have a productive day.
Primp: This is the day to go all out with your makeup. I know this might seem silly, but when I wake up feeling gross, I reach for my bright lipstick and apply my favorite eyeshadow. I might even spend extra time on my mascara to ensure that my eyes look awake. Fake being awake! Every time you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror or remember that you spent extra energy primping, you will feel empowered. This hack always works for me. Plus, a little extra confidence is always good. (And no, this tip is not for everyone, and I am not saying you all have to wear makeup.) Need some makeup ideas? You can find some here.
Dress: Today is the day to take that piece of clothing from your closet that still has the tags on it. This past Saturday, I woke up just feeling busted. I reached for a unique pair of shorts that had been hanging in my closet with the tag still on for a month. Since I put on an outfit was out of the ordinary for me, I felt more “with it”…more put-together. I can’t be the only person who feels this way when I put on an outfit I don’t normally wear or something a little dressier than usual. I had a little extra pep in my step and was better equipped to take on the day’s challenges. And don’t forget about the accessories! Here is my outfit, which I featured in my last blog post.
Listen: Blast some Britney anthems while you’re getting ready or while driving or walking to wherever you have to go. Girly music never fails to lift my spirits! It lightens the mood and I can’t help but singing along, which takes my mind off my daunting to-do list and relaxes me. This is a hack to try when you are nervous or anxious about something, like a big exam or interview. Not into Britney Spears? Here are some other favorites of mine:

Smile: Now this is not a girly hack, but I had to throw it in the mix. Are you more likely to get stuff done (and done the right way) if you have a bitter look on your face or if you are wearing a smile? I am pretty sure it’s the latter. I feel that smiling tricks the mind into happiness. Plus, you need to show off that bright lip color!
